Scoring and feedback collection on basic psychosocial skills

Scoring and feedback collection on the basic psychosocial skills training video for non-specialist frontline responders of COVID-19, based on the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) guide, was conducted with different stakeholders at TPO Nepal on February 5, 2021. All the feedback collected from the workshop will be valuable in contextualizing the five module videos on basic psychosocial skills.

The manual “IASC Guidance on Basic Psychosocial Skills- A Guide for COVID-19 Responders” has already been translated and contextualized in more than 100 languages around the world. The translation and adaptation of this manual in Nepali language was done by TPO Nepal. Now, the videos based on this guide will be adapted in Nepali language, followed by Maithali, Bhojpuri, and Tamang language. The 17 short BPS videos in 5 modules, that teaches basic PS skills for non-specialists, were scored by participants through a scoring sheet based on their importance in the Nepali context. The participants included staff of TPO Nepal, Youth Advisory Board (YAB) members, and representatives from different organizations such as Sunita Foundation, Blue Diamond Society, and Shakti Samuha. The participants also rated priority issues in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and priority target group to provide basic psychosocial skills.
