Consultative Workshop on Mainstreaming Mental Health and Psychosocial Support

Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO Nepal) organized a one-day consultative workshop at Gulariya Municipality, Bardiya on 26th May, 2019. The workshop was conducted on the topic of ‘Mainstreaming Mental Health and Psychosocial Support’, with the support of International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT).

A total of 38 participants (24 Male, 14 Female) participated in this workshop, which included locally elected representatives, health workers, protection workers, media personnel, women and children officer, psychosocial counselor, and torture survivors. It mainly focused on locally elected representatives for the further planning and integration of mental health issues in their work plan.

A brief presentation was given by Mr. Suraj Koirala, Executive Manager of TPO Nepal. The presentation was followed by questions from the participants, which were then answered by Mr. Chandra Kanta Chapagain, office chief of The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Nepalgunj. The final view was given by Man Bahadur Bista, representative of District Coordination Committee (DCC).
