Municipality level workshop for the sustainability of mental health program in Chitwan

A one-day workshop on ‘Role of local government for the sustainability of mental health program in Chitwan district’ was conducted at Khairahani municipality on 26^th July, 2018. The main objective of this program was to share the findings, activities, achievements and challenges of PRogramme for Improving Mental health carE (PRIME) project. The workshop also focused on the roles and responsibilities of the local government for continuation of major components of the program, such as psychotropic medication, recruitment of psychosocial counselors at municipality level, training and supervision of health-workers and mobilization of Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) in the community level after project phase-out.

Locally elected representatives and health focal person of Khairahani municipality, FCHVs, service users, health workers, chief of District Public Health Office and President of District Coordination Committee participated in the workshop.
