Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings

The main objective of this guideline is to enable humanitarian workers and communities for planning, establishing and coordinating a minimum level of multi-sectoral support to protect and strengthen mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies. This guideline aims to implement minimum support, especially extremely important and high priority supports, as soon as possible in emergency settings. This guideline has been prepared for all humanitarian workers, for e.g.: community organizations, government agencies, United Nations organizations, non-governmental organizations and donor organizations who are working in emergency settings in local, national and international levels. This guideline is the formal translation of the IASC Guidelines of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings, which was overseen by the Nepal Working Group of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, co-chaired by UNICEF Nepal and Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO Nepal) /HealthNet TPO and including the following organizations International Rescue Commitee (IRC Nepal), World Health Organization (WHO Nepal), Nepal Mental Health Hospital, Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh Nepal), Center for Mental Health and Counselling (CMC Nepal).
