Conversion Disorder

This ‘Conversion Disorder’ manual was prepared with the expectation of clearing the confusion created by this disorder, widely seen in our communities and especially schools. Conversion disorder is the manifestations of physical symptoms when a person is unable to express their emotional problems or stress. This manual was published to help address this issue. It has been targeted specially for teachers, social workers, health workers, FCHVs, community leaders, families and individuals affected by this disorder, so that they can study this manual and get necessary help. This manual contains information such as what is conversion disorder, its causes, symptoms and effects, myths and realities and the ways in which families, schools, teachers and individuals can solve this problem.

This manual was published in 2016 by TPO Nepal, supported by USAID and The Asia Foundation.
