Gender Based Violence and Psychosocial Support Handbook

This book explains questions like ‘What is Gender based violence? Why does gender based violence happen? What is the effect of gender based violence in mental health?’ as well as systems in place to end gender based violence. Similarly, information of questions like ‘What are psychosocial problems? What are the causes, symptoms and effects of these problems? What methods can be used to tackle these problems?’ have been included in this handbook. Similarly, information of referral for psychosocial support for people affected by gender based violence and information of service centers and rehabilitation centers run by Nepal government has also been included. This handbook has been prepared for social workers working in the community, staffs of government and non-government organizations and people playing a lead role in their community.

This manual was published in two phases: first phase in 2012 and revised in 2014 by TPO Nepal, supported by UKaid.
