Psychosocial and Mental Health Support Training

TPO Nepal conducted the six days Module 1 training developed by NHTC on psychosocial support for the ANM and nursing staff from the Kushma urban municipality, Paiyun, and Annapurna rural municipality. The six-day training was conducted through the RESHAPE project from 7th -12th May 2023 at the Hotel Fishtail Inn, Pokhara. Altogether 11 female participants attended the training. Mrs. Sabitra Sharma and Mrs. Ambika Balami facilitated the training.

 

Objectives of the training: 

  • To increase the dignified treatment access to the person experiencing mental health and psychosocial problems.
  • To provide an understanding of mental and psychosocial well-being.
  • To enhance the knowledge and skills of ANM and nursing staff to identify and provide psychosocial support through health facilities.
  • To provide knowledge and skills to provide psycho-education to the person and their family members along with stress management and self-care techniques.
