Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) is one of Nepal’s leading organizations in the field of psychosocial support and mental health. It was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting psychosocial well-being and mental health among people in conflict-affected and other vulnerable communities through the development of sustainable, culturally appropriate, and community-based psychosocial support systems.
TPO Nepal is implementing a Wellcome Trust-funded research project to establish sustainable partnerships for scaling and optimizing the Early Adolescents Skills for Emotions (EASE) intervention among adolescents at risk of experiencing humanitarian emergencies. To implement this project, TPO Nepal is seeking a qualified candidate to coordinate and carry out the project activities, as outlined below.

Location: Kathmandu
Duration: 10 to 12 months

Essential Responsibilities
- Develop necessary protocols, proposals, and supporting documents for submission to the Social Welfare Council and other relevant stakeholders to obtain grant approval.
- Review existing policies, programs, and legislation related to child and adolescent mental health in Nepal, and provide relevant inputs.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to obtain their inputs, feedback, and recommendations for the effective implementation and scale-up of the EASE intervention in Nepal.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations, including Theory of Change workshops, to gather feedback on the EASE proposal and planned activities.
- Establish and coordinate an Adolescent Advisory Group (AAG), and conduct regular meetings and workshops to incorporate their perspectives into the implementation and scale-up of the EASE intervention.
- Contribute to the development of a grant proposal for evaluating the effectiveness and scaling up of the Early Adolescents Skills for Emotions (EASE) intervention.
- Conduct field visits and support primary data collection as needed.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Anthropology, Global Health, Psychology, or a related field.
Technical Requirements:
Minimum of five years of experience in implementing psychological interventions among adolescents, prior experience in mental health research involving children and adolescents, and experience working with relevant stakeholders, including government bodies.
Experience:
- Experience in mental health research, particularly with adolescents.
- Experience in implementing psychological interventions among children and adolescents.
- Experience in writing proposals for large-scale research grants evaluating psychological interventions.
- Prior experience working with stakeholders, including schools, municipalities, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health.
- Experience in conducting stakeholder workshops, including Theory of Change workshops.
- Experience working with an Adolescent Advisory Group.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali.
