National Anti-Human Trafficking Day celebration
The 12th National Anti-Human Trafficking Day, 2075 was celebrated with different programs at Kathmandu on September 5, 2018. Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens organized a rally to celebrate the day, where staff of TPO Nepal participated.
The rally started from 6:45 am and passed through Bhrikutimandap, Bhadrakali, Shahid Gate, Ratnapark concluding at Rastriya Sabha Griha. Government officials, rights activists and I/NGO representatives participated in the event, which was addressed by Honorable Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Tham Maya Thapa and Governor of Province 3 Anuradha Koirala. Even though the government and concerned stakeholders are playing an active role to prevent human trafficking, Nepali people are still being subjected to human trafficking in various forms.
