Interaction and orientation program with local bodies

Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO Nepal) successfully conducted interaction and orientation program with local bodies at municipal level in Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts. The interaction and orientation meetings were conducted on 11th April at Bidur municipality, 27th April at Sankharapur municipality, 29th April at Chandragiri municipality, 2nd May at Suryabinayak municipality and 7th May at Sindhupalchowk. The one day meeting was conducted with local leaders with the objective of making them aware on different psychosocial support centers functioning in their areas as well as its achievements and challenges. This program was supported by UNICEF.

Representatives from municipality and rural municipality, Women and Children Office, District Health Office and counsellors from psychosocial support centers were present in the meeting. Presentation was given on mental health and psychosocial, district psychosocial activities conducted by TPO Nepal and background and updates on psychosocial support centers. The presentation was followed by interaction program.

These meetings were concluded with the remarks of locally elected representatives, from which TPO Nepal has received positive response to support the psychosocial support centers.
