Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) is a non-governmental organization engaged in the field of mental and psychosocial health. Since its establishment, it has been working at the community level in various districts of Nepal to provide general and emergency psychosocial support, as well as to conduct activities related to mental health services, training, advocacy, and research.

TPO Nepal is implementing activities under the UNFPA-funded GBVPR II program, aimed at strengthening the health sector response to gender-based violence through capacity building and system strengthening.

For the implementation of Medico-Legal Training to be conducted at Kathmandu Medical College, Duwakot, Bhaktapur, a vacancy has been announced for the following consultancy position. Nepali citizens who meet the qualifications are required to submit their applications.

Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate medico-legal training for doctors from OCMCs and hospitals in coordination with NHTC and the organizing agency.
  2. Deliver training sessions using the standardized curriculum and materials provided by NHTC and the implementing organization.
  3. Ensure engaging and participatory facilitation, applying adult learning principles and interactive approaches such as case discussions, group work, and scenario-based exercises.
  4. Provide technical expertise and practical insights on medico-legal examination, documentation, and reporting processes within Nepal’s health and legal systems.
  5. Emphasize ethical and survivor-centered practices, confidentiality, and sensitivity while handling medico-legal cases, particularly related to GBV.
  6. Support the training team in administering pre- and post-training evaluations to assess participant knowledge and skills gained.
  7. Collaborate with the organizing team to ensure smooth session flow, time management, and alignment with the training agenda.
  8. Participate in coordination meetings with NHTC and the project team before and after the training batches as needed.
  9. Submit a facilitation report after each training batch summarizing key highlights, participant engagement, challenges, and recommendations for future improvement.

Qualifications

  1. MD in Forensic Medicine
  2. Valid registration with the Nepal Medical Council
  3. Prior experience in conducting Medico-Legal or forensic training for health professionals
  4. Strong knowledge of medico-legal protocols, documentation, and GBV case management
  5. Excellent facilitation, communication, and coordination skills
  6. Experience working with government health facilities and stakeholders is preferred
