National Health Training Center (NHTC) Module 2: Training
Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) had conducted 7 days training to health workers on mental health, National Health Training Centre (NHTC) Module 2 (Based on WHO mhGAP), successfully from 29 November, 2020 to December 5, 2020 at Gandaki province, Syangja district, Waling Municipality under the support and coordination of Ministry of Social development, National Health Training Centre (NHTC) and provincial health directorate, Gandaki province.
Dr. Ravi Raj Timasina , psychiatrist, Gandaki Medical College, Pokhara and Dr Ram Prasad Lammichhane, Psychiatrist, Lumbini Medical College, Palpa facilitated the 7 days training. Likewise, Executive Director (ED) of TPO Nepal Dr. kamal Gautam and Mr. Bharat Gautam clinical psychologist from TPO Nepal, supervised the training program. Ms. Sabitra Sharma clinical supervisor/Trainer facilitated the psychosocial sessions.
In the training program, Dr. Binod Bindu Sharma, Director, Health Directorate Pokhara, highlighted the issues of mental health and its challenges. Meanwhile, he requested participant’s to learn well from the training to apply knowledge and skills in community setting to overcome the burden of mental illness. Additionally, he thanked all the health workers for their great effort and dedicated work during the period of COVID 19. Dr. Bindu, Mr Shambu Prasad Gyawali, Sr. Public Health Administrator, Ministry of Social development, and Mr. Nani Babu Dani, Public Health Inspector, Health Directorate Pokhara monitor and supervised the training, and provided their feedbacks.
Additionally, Ms. Dristy Gurung project lead, Mr. Mani Neupane implementation coordinator, and Mr. Buddhi Sagar BK, finance and admin officer, Ms. Jananee Magar assistant coordinator TPO Nepal, supported for overall management and accomplishment of training program,
