TPO Nepal is looking for a self motivated and energetic and visionary Project Coordinator and psychosocial Counselors for Enabling women’s participation in Nepal’s peace process through documentation and provision of comprehensive services including psychosocial support to victims of sexual violence” project supported by UNICEF.

1. Job Title: Project Coordinator (1)
Location: Based in Kathmandu with frequent travel to 14 districts of Nepal

Contract Period: Initially for 1 year

Reports to: Executive Manager

Job Description of Project Coordinator
  • Coordinate technical aspects of project activities.
  • Coordinate activities with UNICEF, UNFPA, Advocacy Forum, Save the Children and other related organizations.
  • Conduct technical supervision/mentoring of psychosocial counselors and Community Psychosocial Workers
  • Prepare weekly update, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly reports
  • Orient new staff members regarding the project activities
  • Assess staff development needs and plans.
  • Coordinate in-house training programs.
  • Perform any other official tasks prescribed by supervisor.

Skills, Qualifications and Experiences

Required

  • At least 2 years experience in project coordination;
  • Strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills;
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining effective relationships (strong networking skills);
  • Excellent reporting skills;
  • Fluent in writing and speaking English and Nepali;
  • Clear conceptual clarity of psychosocial and mental health field in Nepal;
  • Willingness to travel to remote part of the districts;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Experience in financial management;
  • Bachelor Degree in Public Health or social science.

Preferred

  • Master degree in social science ;
  • Knowledge of/experience in community based approach to psychosocial care;
  • Several years experience in implementation of a mental health / psychosocial support progrrammes in Nepal;
  • Experience in managing a training programme preferably in the field of mental health/psychosocial support;
  • Relevant experiences in sexual violence and the context of Nepal.

2. Job Title: Female Psychosocial Counselors (Few)
Location: Based in regional centers with frequent travel to the program                      districts

Contract Period: Initially for 1 year

Reports to: Project Coordinator and the Executive Manager

Job Description of Project Coordinator

  • Provide individual, family and group counseling referred to TPO by CPSWs and Community.
  • Facilitate and support CPSWs to conduct “Harm Reduction Group Interventions, Community based Psychosocial Intervention, community resiliency groups and other types of support groups (e.g. recovering alcoholics.)
  • Refer individuals and families in need of a higher level of mental health care and other supports. (e.g. protection).
  • Coordinate with CPSWs and community key person for community based activities
  • Provide supervision to the CPSWs during their field work.
  • Support CPSWs to fill up the M&E format.
  • Write reports: Weekly Updates, Terminated and Resolved Cases in English to be submitted to Project Coordinator.
  • Participate in several meetings, project coordination meetings with IPs and CBOs.
  • Coordinate with other organizations and institutions in the health camps, including UNICEF, UNFPA, Advocacy Forum, Save the Children
  • Co-facilitate CPSW training, facilitate psychosocial orientations at VDCs level.
  • Any other official work prescribed by Project coordinator as well as TPO Nepal central office.

Skills, Qualifications and Experiences

Required

· 6 months psychosocial counseling training;

· Previous experience of psychosocial counseling at district level;

· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills;

· Proven experience in building and maintaining effective relationships (strong networking skills);

· Excellent reporting skills;

· Willingness to travel to remote part of the districts;

· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;

· Minimum intermediate level passed

Preferred

· BA in social science ;

· Experience in managing a training programme preferably in the field of mental health/psychosocial support;

· Relevant experiences in sexual violence and the context of Nepal.
