TPO Nepal has been working with children and communities affected by conflict since 2005.

In 2008, TPO Nepal provided direct services (assessment, counselling and other psychosocial interventions) to nearly 800 vulnerable children, adolescents and adults. Most were either affected by emergency situations (rioting, fire, flooding) or refugees from Bhutan, living in camps in Nepal’s eastern terai.

In addition to project-based psychosocial services, TPO Nepal started up a fee-based counseling service for the Nepali general public as well as expatriates living in Kathmandu.

My parents got me married when I was studying in grade 6. I was only 15-16 years old. Then I told them "I am going through this kind of inequality. You got me married while I was still studying and I fulfilled your responsibility but who will fulfill my responsibility? I asked my mother that question. I do not have a father. There are brother after me. My mother said, "If your brother is getting space to live here then there is no question that you won't fit in. Then they gave me respect and built a home for me near my maternal home. They also gave me a piece of land to grow food. They said that we will make further plans when the children grow up. We grow food in that piece of earth. On the other hand I do some sewing so it is easier to pass the day and to earn a little. My maternal home is supporting me more than my own home at the moment. My in laws have also asked me to come home and live there. But I do not feel safe there. They do not respect the ethics. The brothers in laws are growing young. One of then, the second one tried to molest me when my husband was still there. So I can't stay in that home. So when they did not get support me till my husband was present. After my husband disappeared they started neglecting me.
